Out

I’ve recently been trying to force myself not to surf internet so much, but it didn’t really worked as I always plan to do something but don’t. Since spring started more and more tourists are coming in the city so walking gives less and less pleasure. City center became just loud. I like sunny strolls though. Recently I’ve been looking for job in Norway as it seems I have no other option, it’s impossible to find job without having experience there. And i don't mind it really as grumpy and always complaining people around me makes me grumpy. And i woul like some positivity in my life.
Situation is bad but our government still didn't start using brains for thinking. Maybe that's why Vilnius changed so much over past few years - there are so many foreigners for whom here is 'cheap' and 'wowww! soviet style leftovers' but not so many locals, especially young, there.
Actually i really would like to live in Estonia or Czech Republic and i never understood why so many people are so fond of England. English tourists are considered to be one of the worst there and not really liked (that's why people from Scotland, wales or North Ireland never identify themselves as 'british' there. I belive if you go to the country where most of people are british and lithuanians are not liked (i got that impression from newspapers) you won't be too comfortable.

Young adult

Damn, how quickly time passes when weather is good and life has very few obligations. I just watched movie ‘Young adult” which reminded me myself a little. I tend to avoid responsibilities and just spend my time without really using it. This week went by preparing for weekend and upcoming court hearing. Weather outside is simply beautiful and warm, but the only thing I don’t like about is as like every spring dogs’ poo is everywhere. I’m going to city center this weekend just to walk around and enjoy few drinks with my friends. Because I don’t have jog right now, I feel isolated at times as I don’t have anything to talk about. I’m trying to get used to idea I will have to emigrate to Norway to get some money for my family, but I love it here and don’t plan to stay there for longer period of time. I like almost everything about my country except politics. And I’m scared to leave my country as I constantly get insulted by people telling me I speak English with Russian accent. And few times I read that stereotypes about Lithuania are that girls are easy, we are alcoholics and people tend to become criminals. I don’t want to live with something like stigma only because my nationality as I feel like I deserve better.

Connection

I’m still surprised why people carry two cell phones when it’s possible to get one for the same price. I got my MyPhone 8890 for just 390 lt and it has all the functions I need – sms, calling, wi-fi, and all stuff other, more expensive dual sim phones has. Totally recommend.
for few years already I was using MyPhone, because it’s good, not expensive and staff at main office is very helpful (never uses ‘your phone is wet, now pay’ tactic).
I bought my phone at Viltanika shop and my experiences with staff was extremely positive, probably best service i ever experienced. Also gave good recommendations.

Sadly after arrival to Czech republic my phone died. So i get new one, MyPhone again. 8855 Diggy.
I'm really satisfied with it, just service sucks there (provider is called CPA). I was forced to contact lawyer as they refused to send me manual in english or at least word document in any language.

Middle of the week

Some time ago one of my friends told me that in the heart of Vilnius, in front of archicatheadral there’s a place of cheap margaritas every Wednesday.  That’s how tradition to go there almost every Wednesday was born. Tres mexicanos are perfect place to meet friends in the middle of busy week and talk for hours while having few very tasty (and cheap – half price on Wednesdays) margaritas. Owners are very friendly and interested how customers feel and how they like the place. Waitresses are also pretty cool except one has always serious expression and for me it’s always strange if she smiles. And almost every Wednesday for me finishes with catching last trolleybus.

Margaritas wednesdays are allways cool, especially during summer when there's places (if you are lucky) to sit outside and enjoy margarita and chat. Better to book though.

Drops

I have neighbor who has not my taste in music and is quite punctual – almost every morning around 8 I wake up from vibrating walls. Outside weather is kinda strange – sunny but snow still not melting. Sun gives sense that spring is coming. In traditional st. Casimirs fair there were lot of foreigners spending their money (things are more expensive in that fair than are in supermarkets) and then spending money in bars. Although I still look for a job, I find myself looking for weekend as working person, because there is not much happening during week days. I notice that since there’s almost spring already there’s more and more tourist coming, but it’s kinda sad that there’s more and more young people leaving as it’s becoming harder and harder to survive there. I’m thinking about it too, I would like to see world and be able to live with more than barely survivable amount of money.

Center

This weekend I participated in two very cool cooking events which was nice getaway from what I usually do on weekends especially because I wasn’t forced to spend time/be in the same room with drunk people. Weather just gotten really warm and sunny so mass of foreigners ‘I saw old town and that equals I saw city’ was spending time in st Casimir fair which is quite boring for locals as stuff you can buy there are no different from supermarket’s assortment and usually more expensive. I didn’t went there so wasted zero amount of time. Locals are quite angry nowadays because our genius mayor changed some of microbus routes so people from some districts have hard time getting to city center. I feel lucky that I live in district with good connection to center and main problem for me is getting last trolleybus if I stay late in center. Since most of foreigners living here think that city is old town, they have no such problem and that’s probably why they have no knowledge about good place to hang out except most central ones where mostly foreigners resides.
